Event Cancelled!

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of MemoryFest, originally scheduled for 2nd May.

While we were excited to bring this event to Wetheringsett, it requires a minimum level of community participation to be financially and operationally viable. Unfortunately, ticket sales have not met the threshold required to move forward.

As a result, all current ticket holders have received a full refund.

We love our village and believe in the power of local events, but we have to be realistic. Organizing events like this involves significant financial risk and many hours behind the scenes.

Put simply: Local events rely entirely on local support. If we want a vibrant community calendar filled with live music and shared memories, we have to show up for one another.

Without a clear indication of interest through early ticket support, we simply cannot commit to hosting similar events in the future.

We hope this is just a “see you later” and not a “goodbye.” We want to keep making things happen for this village, but we need to know you’re with us.

Thank you to those who did step up and support us early on – your enthusiasm is what keeps us going!

Our Chosen Charity

For each of our Events since 2015 we have chosen one or two Charities to benefit from the funds raised during the evening. So far we have donated to Alzheimer Scotland, Dementia UK, Alzheimer’s Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society. In total, just under £6,000.

For our next event in Wetheringsett-cum-Brockford, Suffolk, we have a chosen a smaller, local organisation and will be supporting The Debenham Project. The aim of the project is to support carers and those living with dementia in Debenham and surrounding villages. They are a registered Charity (Number 1133501) which started out in 2009 and has become recognised as an example of innovation and best practice across Suffolk and beyond.

The money raised during the evening, from ticket sales, raffles and other surprises, as well as our Just Giving page will be handed over to The Debenham Project just as soon after the event as possible.

Our Entertainment!

Entertainment Announcement Poster

Great to say we have our evening’s entertainment sorted out now, we have secured the services of Harry Isaac Presley and the HIP Operation.

These guys will be with us all evening, giving their very best performances and making the event such a special one, we really can’t wait!

We will be chatting to them in the early new year to try and prise some more details out of them as to quite what their show will all be about.

One thing’s for sure though … they will really get us all shook up!
