New Posters for 2020

New Posters for 2020Here they are in all their glory, our 2020 Memory Fest posters and flyers, ready for release within the next few weeks!

If you can help us with displaying or distributing these, or if you know a local business that can put a poster up, please get in touch.

Did you know it is only 81 days until the event? You didn’t? Well you do now! Have you secured your tickets yet? Don’t forget you can only get them via CRBO, click on the link, phone their number (01726 879500), or you can even use one of those fancy QR Code scanners, if you know how!

Come along and help us to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society while making The Lugger Inn absolutely Rock on May 16!

Tickets Now Available!

Since moving to Cornwall, we have been looking at ways to make life easier and allow more time for things we enjoy (highly recommended, if you are able to do this!). With this in mind we have teamed up with the Cornish Riviera Box Office who will be handling our ticket sales for Memory Fest – Cornwall.

So, it is all set up for you to book your Tickets online and either download them or request that they are sent out in the post (this will cost an extra £1 for the admin involved).

We hope ticket sales are going to go very well, remember it is a Live Music event sponsored by Penlee Residential Care Home, with Broken Down playing at The Lugger Inn in Penzance on 16 May 2020 to raise much needed awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s Society – there will be lots of fun and laughter to be had by One and All, and all held together by Gray Lightfoot!

Where will we be?

The Lugger Inn

The Lugger InnAre you ready for this evening’s announcement folks?

Our venue for Memory Fest is all agreed now, so we will be welcoming you all to Lugger Inn in Penzance. Their function room will be ideal and as an added bonus our Band for the evening, Broken Down, are well known there too!

Just as a reminder, although I am sure many of you already know this, The Lugger is a brilliant family run Inn right on the Promenade with fabulous views of the Bay (although you won’t see much of that on 16 May as you will be inside enjoying the Event!)

What’s On Glasgow?

Whats On Glasgow

What’s On? We will tell you what’s on, or rather What’s On Glasgow will tell you!

Did you know you can find out what’s on across Glasgow. These fabulous people cover everything including music, theatre, film, dance, comedy, museums, heritage, outdoors, arts, crafts, literature, festivals and family friendly activities …. including Memory Fest ’17.

What's On?

Check them out, you can even subscribe to one of their mailing lists to keep you informed of upcoming events.

We have used them for each of our events and will continue to do for future ones too.

Have You Seen Us … ?

Kirkintilloch Herald

Kirkintilloch HeraldWell if you have read this week’s Kirkintilloch Herald you will have done.

It was lovely for Cathy to receive a phone text from one of her friends and a good supporter of ours to say that we were in the paper!

Here is a photo, but please go out and buy a copy of your own to read it in full.

We can’t see it online yet, but if we spot it we will be sharing it too!

Club Bliss – The Venue

Our Hosts - Club Bliss

Our Hosts - Club BlissWe did look around at alternative venues for Memory Fest ’17 however Club Bliss was still the venue of choice for our supporters and the bands that will be playing on the evening.

Ryan and his team have promised to look after us again this year and make it a night to remember.

But, why not look at the other events they have on? There is always something good to  look forward to, they really are the go to venue for live music in Kirkintilloch.

The Scottish Pink Floyd, Clyde 1’s Michael Smith, Zander Nation, The Complete Stone Roses, George Bowie, Hells Bells are just some of the great names that have preformed or are due to perform at the Club – keep an eye out to see who will be next!

The Amused Owls

The Amused Owls

The Amused OwlsWe are very pleased that The Amused Owls have once again agreed to support Memory Fest and will be opening our evening of entertainment and fundraising at Club Bliss on Sunday, 30 April 2017.

For those of you that came along last year, we are sure you will remember the way they had the place rocking! We understand they have some new tunes in their set this year and we are looking forward to hearing what they are.

With Dan Welsh on Guitar and Vocals, Ross MacRae on Bass, Tom Young on Drums and John McKie on Guitar, Keyboards and Vocals we are sure they will have your feet tapping if not actually get you up on the dance floor!

The Posters Are Here

Memory Fest '17 Poster

Memory Fest '17 PosterThe new posters arrived on Friday night and we will be distributing them for display as soon as possible.

We have a few locations for them already sorted out, however if you can display one for us, then please get in touch and we will drop one off for you.

Remember the more people that see the posters, the bigger the audience we could have at Club Bliss and the more money we can raise for Alzheimer Scotland!

Two great bands giving up their time, free of charge, for Memory Fest ’17 and performing for us on 30 April 2017 – it is going to be another great night!

Memory Fest ’17

Memory Fest '17

Welcome to the Memory Fest ’17 website … well yes, it’s the same one as last year, I know that, but now we are going to share all of the information about the forthcoming event taking place on 30 April 2017.

Memory Fest '17This year we are just supporting the one Charity, Alzheimer Scotland – last year we found that most of our supporters preferred the local charity and so we made the decision to drop our support for Dementia UK for this event. We will keep our Just Giving page open for Dementia UK just in case anyone does want to donate to them too, they are still a very worth cause!

We considered other venues for this year’s event, however have decided to go back to Club Bliss in Kirkintilloch who looked after us so well last year.

Over the coming weeks we will be updating our posts here to let you know what is going on, who is supporting us and where you can buy tickets from. Posters and physical tickets are now at the printers and we hope to have these available very soon. If you can display one of our posters, please get in touch and we will make sure we drop one or two off for you.
