We Have One!

Sweeney's Shutter

Sweeney's ShutterThe power of Social Media (and new friends) has helped Memory Fest to find a last minute photographer for the event tonight!

Bernie from Sweeney’s Shutter Photography Services has agreed to come along and take photos at Memory Fest ’16 and the photographs will be made available on the DVD as a ‘extra’ once it is produced.

Bernie is a very experienced photographer and has covered many gigs, weddings, sports and other events. We are sure there will some fantastic images made tonight – some candid, some posed, some action shots, a great memento of what we are hoping will be an ace evening of live music and entertainment – thanks Bernie!

Today’s The Day!

Keep Calm

Keep CalmAfter all the preparation and planning it has finally arrived, today is the day the first Memory Fest Gig will take place, raising funds and awareness through Classic Rock for Alzheimer Scotland and Dementia UK.

If you haven’t heard anything about this yet, where have you been since January?

Its taking place this evening between 7 pm and 11 pm at Club Bliss in Kirkintilloch, Scotland.

We have two bands playing live on stage, first of all The Amused Owls and then, headlining for us, R.is.E, both bands playing some brilliant Classic Rock tracks!

We have been knocked out with the prizes and auction items that have been donated, thanks to everyone for these. There will be some happy people going home after the event this evening.

Still looking for a couple of hairy men for the Waxing, if we don’t get any volunteers this evening (and our Claire’s team will be quite persuasive) then we will have to cancel this activity, which will be shame.

Remember doors will be open at 7 pm with The Amused Owls onstage at 7.30 pm so please don’t be late (I have seen their set list, you really don’t want to miss it).

If you can’t make it to the event tonight you can still make a donation on our Just Giving page, which allows you to choose which of the two charities your donation goes to. Thank you so much to the people that have already donated in this way, it is really appreciated.

Hopefully see you tonight for a great party!

This Time Next Week …

R.is.E

R.is.E LogoThis time next week it will be all over, R.is.E will have just finished their second set, the winners of the silent auctions will have been announced, everyone will have their raffle prizes and there should be at least a couple of the males in the audience that are super smooooth (and I don’t mean with their chat up lines!). Hey, we will even know Monkey’s name and he will have a new home!

Those of you that are able will be able to party on into the early hours at Club Bliss, but the Memory Fest part of the evening will have wound up. The cameras will have stopped rolling and the bands will have packed away … until next year? Well, lets wait and see how successful it will have been. Wouldn’t it be great to see Memory Fest become an annual event on the calendar, raising awareness and funds through Classic Rock for Alzheimer Scotland and Dementia UK?

Remember if you are unable to make it next week, you can always leave a donation on our Just Giving page, if you are able. Every penny is appreciated.

Mugstock 2016

Mugstock 2016

Mugstock Statistics 2015No, its OK, we haven’t made a typo, we did actually mean to title this article Mugstock 2016!

You see, the organisers of this festival of music and merriment known as Mugstock 2016 have very kindly provided us with not one but two weekend tickets to their event which takes place on another Bank Holiday, 29-31 July 2016. This is a huge prize, each ticket has a face value of £75.

The image to the right shows some of the stats from last year and 2016 is set to be even bigger!

So you can still come to our Memory Fest ’16, which is taking place on this next Bank Holiday Sunday and, if you are lucky whilst you are there you can win these tickets to go to Mugstock 2016 as well!

Even if you don’t win the tickets (and only one person can win) it is seriously worth going to Mugstock for a weekend of great entertainment, check out their ticket prices.

Monkey Here Again

Upside Down Monkey

Upside Down MonkeyHello, Monkey here again! You might have seen me earlier, I’m still looking for a name, one of you lucky people coming along to the Memory Fest event is going to choose one for me.

In the meantime, I am just lounging around and waiting and waiting.

I wonder what my name will be, I hope it’s something sexy. ‘Cos I am sexy, don’t you think? Go on, admit it, you think I am don’t you?

By the way, did you know? As well as the the £42 that the person who picks my name gets … they also get to take me home with them too. Can you believe that? I can’t wait to see where I will be living. I hope it’s somewhere nice, with someone nice.

Hope you’ve bought your tickets, have you bought them? They are available you know. Cathy and Stephen are selling them. Claire and Mo have got some to sell. Lisa is also selling them and Carol, nearly forgot about Carol (how could I forget about Carol?). Oh, you can also buy them at Bar Bliss too, and on-line. Loads of places, so you really have no excuse .. remember you have to be there to be in with a chance of taking me home!

Well, I’m off to bed now. It’s tiring all this hanging around upside down. See you soon!

Posters Are Ready!

Memory Fest Poster

Memory Fest PosterThanks to Kenwil Print Ltd for working with us to produce our posters, flyers and tickets! We collected them yesterday and are very pleased with them.

Cathy, Lisa and I will be distributing them around the place over the next few days – if you would like to display one for us, just get in touch and we will try to get one to you as soon as possible.

We can also send you an image of the poster if you would like to promote Memory Fest ’16 (in partnership with Home Instead Senior Care) on your own website or social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc) – let’s see how far we can get this information! We know people in New Zealand, Australia, America, Canada, Spain, sure there must be other places too.

Tickets are available to purchase now at the Early Bird price of only £5 each (entry on the night will be £7.50 if we haven’t already sold out by then!).

Remember, just because you can’t get to the event here in Scotland, you can still support us through sharing and possibly, if you are able, through our Just Giving page.
